Hello everyone, I'm EDWARD. My wife GRACE and I is a couple of post-90s, owning a startup.
We, quite a job from Shanghai, returned to our hometown (Jianyang, Fujian Province,China) to start a business. We spent half a year looking for an ideal place of which Jianyang, my hometown, is the center for making JianZhan with no distractions. Eventually, we found a village with only a dozen families. In order not to disrupt the daily routine of the villagers, we built the company, named HE YUAN SHAN YIN, which literally means coexistence in harmony with mountains, at the very edge of the village. After locating the site, we began to buy the materials we needed. HE YUAN SHAN YIN was towards perfection during the process of continuous transformation, and our dream finally found its home.
The Oriental Carp Studio is committed to promoting handicrafts with Chinese aesthetics. They are very persistent and innovative. This year, we authorized The Oriental Carp Studio to popularize and distribute our Jianzhan crafts overseas. Grace and I poured our heart and minds into every production. First of all, we have made innovations in the traditional type of Jianzhan. Secondly, we accept customization.
Part1: Made innovations in the traditional type of Jianzhan.
The traditional shapes of Jianzhan include the bunched mouth, skewed mouth, open mouth, and converging mouth. (As shown below)
As an increasing number of people start to drink tea and be keen on Jianzhan, we try to make more changes in the shape of the cup to fit the aesthetics of the new generation. For example, the following one we named "Suona Flower Cup". Because its shape is similar to the traditional Chinese musical instrument suona, and also looks like a blooming flower.
Another example is the following one, we named it "Prayer Wheel", which is similar to the shape of the implement held by the Tibetan people in China, which means to remind ourselves to accumulate merit.
There are also more innovative types, such as use the Jianzhan materials to fire the shape of vase, with a painting carved on the surface. We named it "Fish Playing with Lotus”.
Part2: We accept customization
Jianyang,Nanping is an industrial center for the production and manufacture of Jianzhan in China. In order to improve production efficiency, one kiln usually produces hundreds of Jianzhan at the same time in the production process, and then distributes them to dealers in the form of wholesale. Although each Jianzhan is unique, it still can’t satisfy the higher customization needs of customers. Grace is very good at calligraphy and painting. In order to provide more customized production, she has been practicing engraving and painting on Jianzhan for one year. Now if customers want to engrave words, ancient poems, or auspicious clouds and lotus on the surface of Jianzhan, we can provide unique customized requirements according to the needs of customers.
